Throughout the year, the MCA offers a variety of outreach programs focused on cancer prevention, screening, early detection and survivorship, which are conducted at member sites and other sites across the region. Some programs can be offered in Spanish. Through a site visit and assessment, the MCA staff will work with members to determine the most appropriate outreach programs to best serve the members' needs and address the cancer burden in that area. POOL COOL SUN SAFETY PROGRAM
In 2015-16, MCA nnd Kansas Cancer Partnership provided the Pool Cool sun safety training to pool staff in more than 25 communities across Kansas.

FREE HPV DOCUMENTARY SCREENINGS
MCA is teaming up with some of our members to show a moving film on the devastating effects of HPV and the importance of getting the vaccine. We will provided updated information on times and locations as new screenings are scheduled.

Cooking Up Comfort
If you or someone you care for is dealing with a chronic disease like cancer, diabetes or hypertension you are invited to join us for free cooking demonstrations & tips on ways to make food appealing and enhance appetites.
At 12 pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month from January-November, KU Integrative Medicine dietitians will prepare recipes, share nutrition advice and answer questions to help patients cook-up comfort in the kitchen. The program takes place in the KU Clinical Research Center Test Kitchen at 4350 Shawnee Mission Parkway and is currently available, via I-TV, at Stormont-Vail Cancer Center in Topeka and Heartland Cancer Center in Garden City.
