Clinical Trials //

The MCA is working with the University of Kansas Cancer Center's Clinical Trials Office to increase access to advanced clinical trials. All MCA members are provided detailed information about the clinical trials available to them through weekly e-mails and a monthly clinical trials booklet via mail.

All MCA members participating in clinical trials will need to first complete a site visit and assessment of their clinical trials infrastructure and staffing before enrolling patients.  MCA Clinical Research and Major Clinical Research Partners are eligible to enroll patients at their location in selected MCA-sponsored multi-site trials and selected KU investigator-initiated trials based on their clinical research capacity.  All trials are open for referral to KUMC.

MCA-Sponsored Clinical Trials

  • Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials: Original research protocols developed and written by Investigators at The University of Kansas Cancer Center.
  • Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) Cooperative Trials: Multi-site, Phase II or III trials sponsored by SWOG or co-sponsored by SWOG through the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Trials Support Unit (CTSU).
  • Industry/Pharmaceutical Company Clinical Trials: At this time industry/pharmaceutical studies are not open to MCA Clinical Research and Major Clinical Research Partners through the MCA.  We hope to offer this opportunity to our members in the near future.
