Partners Advisory Board Mission
By demonstrating collaboration of key hospitals and research institutions, The Midwest Cancer Alliance Partners Advisory Board supports National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation, leverages regional strengths such as drug discovery and development and advances cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship. By increasing access to the latest discoveries and cutting edge cancer treatments close to home, we can reduce the financial, emotional and physical burdens for patients, while achieving the ultimate goal of eliminating cancer in the Heartland.
To support The University of Kansas Cancer Center's National Cancer Institute designation by demonstrating research and education collaboration amongst key hospitals and research institutions for the benefit of the region.
- Provide input on research programs leveraging unique regional strengths
- Assist with, and offer advice on, philanthropic plans to support The University of Kansas Cancer Center's strategic plan
- Evaluate potential joint strategic investments of a scale that require collaboration (example: Proton Beam Therapy)
The MCA Partners Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Director of The University of Kansas Cancer Center and the Chief Executive Officer of the Midwest Cancer Alliance. The Chief Executive Officer of each health care and research institution serves as a member of the MCA PAB. Each member serves as an equal partner with rights and responsibilities regarding research, education, philanthropy and community benefit.
